Welcoming a New Generation: Te Tahi Youth Expands Enrolment to Include Tamariki 0–5.

Conversations across our clinical team, social workers, and the families we support have made one thing clear: young parents need services that are easy to access, consistent, and centred around real connection.

Now, we’re proud to announce a significant step in that direction, Te Tahi Youth is now enrolling tamariki aged 0–5.

This extension of our service is available only for tamariki of parents who are already enrolled with us, allowing whānau to receive care together in one place, with familiar faces and a team they already trust. For young parents who are navigating their own wellbeing while caring for a new baby, having everything under one roof removes barriers and lightens the load.

We know how important it is for tamariki to receive regular checks, immunisations, and early support, and we know how powerful it is when parents feel comfortable and confident in the care they’re accessing. By bringing tamariki into the same service that supports their parents, we’re strengthening continuity and building the foundations of long-term wellness.

This change also represents the wrap-around approach that Te Tahi Youth has always been passionate about. When parents are supported, babies have a better chance of thriving. When whānau feel connected, communities grow stronger.

What does it mean?

  • Enrolment is now open to children aged 0–5 whose parents are already part of Te Tahi Youth
  • Clinical care will be offered through our existing services
  • Families can access appointments together, more easily and without navigating multiple systems

If you’re already enrolled with us and would like to enrol your child, or simply want to learn more, email admin@tetahiyouth.org.nz or speak with our clinical team next time you’re in.
