Out and About: Connecting with Our Community.

Building awareness and connection through community engagement.

We know that being visible in our community matters. It’s one thing to offer support from our hubs, but getting out and about allows us to connect with rangatahi and whānau who might not otherwise know what help is available. Recently, our team has been attending local community days and expos, meeting people face-to-face and letting them know what services we provide, from health and wellbeing support to employment guidance and more.

Schools are another important part of how we reach young people. Our workshops cover sexual and general health topics, giving students a safe space to learn and ask questions. We also offer CPR and first aid training, helping rangatahi gain practical skills and confidence in real-world situations.

Looking ahead, we’re planning to expand into community talks, giving more people the opportunity to hear directly from our team about how Te Tahi Youth can help. Whether it’s a school, workplace, or community group, we want to bring our support where it’s needed and make sure rangatahi know we’re here for them.

If you’d like to arrange a visit, or have us run a workshop or talk, please get in touch at admin@tetahiyouth.org.nz.
