Each gift tells rangatahi: Your community cares.

A small act of kindness can make a big difference.

As the year races towards the holiday season, Te Tahi Youth is once again proud to be part of Giving Tuesday, a global movement that’s all about communities coming together to support those who need and deserve it most.

For us, Giving Tuesday is more than a campaign. It’s a way to ensure rangatahi living in challenging circumstances know they are valued, cared for, and not alone.

This year, we’ll be working with local businesses, schools, supporters, and community groups to gather donations of essential goods for young people. We’re asking for contributions such as:

  • Hygiene products
  • Easily prepared meals or snacks (like cup-a-soups, noodles, or muesli bars)
  • Individually wrapped chocolates and treats (because everyone deserves a little something special)

Once donations are collected, our Te Tahi team will make visits during the week of December 2nd to pick up items. We’ll then carefully pack them into bundles and start distributing them to rangatahi the following week.

It’s a simple act, but one that makes a huge difference. Every item donated becomes a message of aroha and support, reminding young people that their community cares about them.

If you, your workplace, or your school would like to join us and make this our biggest Giving Tuesday yet, please get in touch at fundraising@tetahiyouth.org.nz.
