At Te Tahi Youth, supporting rangatahi into employment isn’t just a goal, it’s a kaupapa we take seriously, and the results speak for themselves.
Since the programme began, we’ve contacted 262 young people and enrolled 186, exceeding our contracted target. We’re tracking well, with just 8% of our contracted outcomes left to achieve. The mahi happening on the ground shows rangatahi aren’t just enrolling, they’re staying connected, building momentum, and moving into work or further training with growing confidence.
One of the most rewarding parts of this programme is seeing the team celebrate every success together. While this is being written, the bell was dinged to mark another participant securing a role. These wins aren’t only for the young person or their navigator, the entire team shares in the celebration, because each success reflects the combined effort, care, and dedication behind it
While there are 15 more outcomes to meet before the current contract finishes in June 2026, the team is well-positioned to reach the target.
Looking ahead, we’ve submitted our tender application for the next contract, and are hopeful that it will allow us to continue offering this vital programme, helping more rangatahi into employment while building skills, confidence, and opportunities for the future.
