Bringing Youth Healthcare Closer to the Community Through Collaboration.
Collaboration has always been at the heart of what we do, and our new partnership with Te Puawaitanga ki Ōtautahi Trust is another step toward making youth healthcare even more accessible across our city.
Te Puawaitanga is a kaupapa Māori organisation supporting whānau across Canterbury through health, social, and education services. They’re deeply connected to their community, offering everything from pregnancy and parenting support to outreach, health promotion, and social work services.
Starting this month, our clinical team will be based at Te Puawaitanga’s Eastgate site every Thursday afternoon, offering drop-in style appointments with our nurses and healthcare assistant. It’s a simple way for rangatahi to connect with free, youth-friendly healthcare, no booking or referral needed.
This kind of collaboration is exactly why we made the move to The Loft. Being surrounded by like-minded organisations means we can work together more easily, share expertise, and create smoother pathways for young people and whānau who need support.
When local agencies come together, the benefits ripple out, reaching more people, reducing barriers, and strengthening the community as a whole. We’re proud to be working alongside Te Puawaitanga and look forward to seeing the impact this partnership will have.
