Building Confidence, Connections, and a Sense of Direction: Our New Youth Coaching Programme.

New Youth Coaching Programme Helping Rangatahi Find Their Path.

We’re always looking for new ways to walk alongside rangatahi as they figure out who they are and where they want to go. Our new Youth Coaching Programme, running across Ōtautahi and Selwyn, does exactly that – providing young people with personalised support, practical tools, and a safe space to explore their future.

Each rangatahi in the programme gets a tailored plan, created with their goals in mind. Alongside one-on-one coaching, there are group workshops covering everything from health and wellbeing to creativity, employment, and life skills. It’s all about helping young people grow in confidence, build connections, and see what’s possible, at their own pace.

Our Youth Coaches, Maggie and Jayden, bring plenty of heart and experience to the programme.

Maggie first joined Te Tahi during her social work placement in 2023 and has since become a cornerstone of our youth development mahi. She’s passionate about helping young people recognise their potential and says she loves that “no two days, or young people, are the same.”

Jayden, who has been supporting rangatahi in Christchurch’s eastern suburbs since he was 15, shares that his goal is to “encourage and champion young people the way I was supported,  to help them see that they are more than what society tells them they are.”

If you’d like to see what the programme’s all about, you can pop in for a drop-in session with Maggie and Jayden. Come along, have a chat, and see if joining might be the right fit for you.
