A new role for Te Tahi Youth.
We’re always looking for ways to strengthen the care we provide for rangatahi. That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new role within our clinical team, the Healthcare Assistant. This position gives our doctors and nurses extra support in delivering youth-friendly, responsive, and holistic healthcare.
A Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is a vital part of any medical team. They provide practical support in clinics, assist with preparing and running appointments, help young people feel comfortable in a medical environment, and ensure the clinic runs smoothly day-to-day. For rangatahi, this means more time with staff who understand their needs, more accessible support, and an even warmer welcome when they walk through our doors.
We’re thrilled to welcome Sam as our very first Healthcare Assistant. Sam joined us in September and brings a wealth of experience as an HCA in both child and youth settings, as well as dementia care. He has worked across New Zealand and Wales. Realising that his strengths and passions lie in working with rangatahi, Sam was seeking a new challenge where he could grow his career while continuing to make a difference in young people’s lives.
For Te Tahi Youth, this role represents another step forward in making our services more accessible, youth-friendly, and responsive to the diverse needs of our community. We’re already seeing the positive impact of having Sam on board, and we can’t wait to see how his work will continue to support rangatahi in the months ahead.
