Volunteer – Front of House / Reception

Te Tahi Youth provides free clinical, mental health, and wellbeing services to young people aged 10–24 in Ōtautahi. We are seeking friendly and reliable volunteers to support front of house reception at our satellite clinic located within The Youth Hub.

Front of house volunteers play an important role in helping create a calm, safe, and welcoming environment for rangatahi and their whānau accessing our services.

About the role

As a front of house volunteer, you will:

  • Welcome clients as they arrive for appointments
  • Check clients in using a simple system
  • Help maintain a calm and welcoming waiting area
  • Direct clients to the appropriate staff member

This role does not involve phone work or administrative duties. Computer use is minimal and limited to checking clients in. During quieter periods, volunteers may use the time for reading, study, or independent work, while remaining available to welcome clients as needed.

Shifts and commitment

  • Shifts are available Tuesday to Friday, 8.30am – 12pm or 12 – 4.30pm
  • A minimum commitment of three shifts per month is required

Training and requirements:

  • Full training and onboarding are provided
  • All volunteers must complete police vetting
