Give what you can

We’re running a community-led food drive to collect non-perishable food items for rangatahi connected with Te Tahi Youth.

We’re inviting schools, workplaces, and community groups to run their own small collection drives.

Donations are then brought together and turned into food parcels that can be discreetly provided to young people who need a bit of extra support.

Why are we doing this?

Recent feedback from our young people has highlighted a growing reality, some are starting to go without food, and many feel too ashamed to ask for help. We know the pressure is only going to increase over the coming months.

While Te Tahi Youth is not and unfortunately cannot become a steady food distribution service, we do want to do what we can to help ease immediate pressure where it’s needed most.

This campaign is about our community coming together to support rangatahi in a simple, practical, and dignified way.

How it works:

  • Start a collection: Set up a food drive in your workplace, school, or community group.
  • Collect donations: Ask people to donate non-perishable food items
  • Drop off or collect: Bring donations to Te Tahi Youth, or get in touch and we can arrange collection where possible.
  • We create food parcels: Our team will sort and distribute food parcels discreetly to young people we know are in need.
