Youth committee.

The Te Tahi Youth Committee ensures that young people’s voices are at the heart of everything we do. We listen, we learn, and we take action based on what matters most to you. The Youth Committee plays a key role in shaping our services and supporting young people in Ōtautahi. Members advocate for rangatahi by providing feedback to Te Tahi Youth on policies and strategies, organise events and projects that strengthen community connections, create resources and educational materials, and work alongside other youth groups and stakeholders in Ōtautahi and beyond.

You don’t need to have accessed Te Tahi Youth’s services to be part of the committee. We encourage rangatahi from all backgrounds to apply, including those with lived experience with the healthcare system, disabilities or chronic illnesses, neurodiverse perspectives, rainbow, Takatāpui, and gender-diverse identities, as well as Māori, Pacific, and culturally diverse backgrounds.

Being on the Youth Committee is a chance to influence youth health and wellbeing services in Ōtautahi, turn your passions into real change, gain leadership, governance, and advocacy experience, connect with youth leaders and organisations across Aotearoa, and access training and upskilling opportunities. The Youth Committee meets on the last Friday of every month. Members are expected to attend meetings and events where possible, uphold Te Tahi Youth’s values, and actively contribute to discussions and projects.
