It’s with so much pride and excitement that we announce our amazing board member, Paige Sullivan, has been nominated as a finalist for the Westfield Local Heroes programme! This community recognition and grants programme recognises and shines a spotlight on individuals in Australia and New Zealand who make a significant positive impact on their local community or environment.
The Westfield Local Heroes programme celebrates individuals who positively impact their communities. Each year, nominations are assessed and selected, and from over 1000 nominees, three finalists from each Westfield destination go through to a community vote. For Paige to make it as a finalist is a celebration in itself, and we couldn’t be prouder of her and the work she does.
Paige is a passionate solicitor, community advocate, and a member of the Te Tahi Youth Board. She was admitted to the Bar in June 2024, and is a trustee of multiple charities and organisations, including the Empowerment Trust New Zealand and Arts Access Aotearoa. Starting with Lincoln Rotary at age 11, Paige’s dedication to community service is unwavering. She is a trustee of Te Tahi Youth and committee chair of the Te Tahi Youth Committee, shaping our services to support rangatahi. Her goal is to create a New Zealand where every young person feels seen, heard, and valued. Paige is also just 24 years old, proving that she has an incredible path ahead of her.
In addition to her remarkable community work, Paige was recently crowned Miss Canterbury, and will go on to compete in Miss New Zealand. Her various achievements make her a role model for our youth, showing that incredible things can be accomplished regardless of age or life experience.
As a finalist, Paige has already secured $5,000 in funding for Te Tahi Youth. If she wins, Te Tahi Youth will receive an incredible $20,000 in funding. By supporting Paige Sullivan in the Westfield Local Heroes programme, you are directly contributing to the future of Te Tahi Youth.
